Pastor Levitt of Zola Levitt Ministries acted as lecturer and tour host on more than 80 trips to places such as:
Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, the areas of the seven churches, the Mediterranean islands, European capitals, and many other places.
He was a Jewish Christian thoroughly educated in the synagogues.
Born December 3, 1938 - April 19, 2006 Levitt was a Messianic Jewish teacher in Dallas, Texas, who had a strong pro-Israel ministry.
He led Levitt Ministries, Inc., a non-profit 501(c) organization for purposes of "evangelism of the unbelievers and the exhortation of the believers".
He held music degrees from Duquesne University and Indiana University (doctoral coursework completed), and an honorary Th.D. from Faith Bible College. An avid musician, Levitt played the oboe, English horn, recorder, and piano.
Levitt was also a widely published author with more than fifty books in several different languages, and the composer of some two hundred spiritual songs, personally performing for most of his album. His two musicals, "Beloved Thief" and "Mine Eyes Have Seen," have been televised nationally.
He at one time taught a course on "Christ in the Old Testament" at Dallas Baptist University and gave seminars at other education institutions.
His national TV program is seen on INSP and DayStar (network) and i (TV network) and until August 28 2006 was seen on TBN and is currently hosted by Jeffrey Seif. His ministry offers a correspondence course entitled "The Institute of Jewish-Christian Studies" which teaches the Jewish roots of the Christian faith.
He was formerly the host of two top-rated radio talk shows: "The Heart of the Matter" in Dallas and the nationally syndicated "Zola Levitt Live." His ministry also publishes a monthly newsletter, "The Levitt Letter."
He died of lung cancer and went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2006.
Zola Levitt is survived by his beloved wife Sandra, who carries both his name and his legacy. A son Mark, who takes the lead in administrating this ever expanding world wide ministry. A son Aaron, who participates behind the scenes, helping with writing, editing and more.
Also, a stepson Will “Our Man in Jerusalem” who keeps up-to-date with things in Israel.
Jeffrey Seif was asked to take the teaching helm and serve as the principal spokesperson of Zola Levitt Ministries.
