The couple got their start recording under the name Sons and Daughters, with longtime friends Charlie and Kimber Hall (Charlie Hall is a known worship leader with the Passion Conferences).
They released their first record, Holy Roar, with this lineup in 1995. In 1997, they released Open Me Up under the same name. That same year, Nathan and Christy began leading worship at Metro Bible Study at Houston's First Baptist Church. This is where Watermark began.
Rocketown heard about the couple around 1998, and soon signed them to the label. That same year, they released their first project as a part of Rocketown, an album called Watermark. This disc is almost a complete re-record of the Sons and Daughters disc Open Me Up, with only a few song changes.
Their second album, All Things New, which is probably their best-known project, released in 2000. Constant, their 3rd studio project with Rocketown, was released in 2002. Their final all-studio album, The Purest Place, was released in August of 2004.
This project yielded the couple a GMA Music Awards nomination for Inspirational Album of the Year, and also helped to earn Christy a nod for Female Vocalist, though neither award was won.
On March 14, 2006, the couple released their final album as a part of Rocketown. A Grateful People was recorded live at the couple's church in Brentwood, Tennessee in August of 2005. It includes 12 tracks from the 3-hour-long concert and 2 brand new studio tracks. Friends of the couple who have played roles in their ministry that are special guests on the album include Point of Grace, Chris Tomlin, Ed Cash, and Shane and Shane.
Throughout the years, Nathan and Christy have played a part in the Passion Conferences, which were started by Louie Giglio. Most recently, Nathan has produced live recordings of the past 2 conferences in Nashville, TN (2005 and 2006).
Nathan is an avid producer, having produced not only the Passion CDs, but also Watermark's The Purest Place, and Rita Springer's I Have To Believe, among others.
The couple have toured extensively during their career, doing both solo shows and also with such notable groups as Point of Grace and Michael W. Smith.
The couple have three young children, Noah Luke, born July 21, 2000, Elliana Noelle, born December 18, 2002, and Annie Rose, born June 26, 2007.
Nathan, and especially Christy, have released many songs only available on compilations. These songs include: "O Come Emmanuel", "In the Garden/There Is None Like You", "Breathe", "Grace Flows Down", and "Breath of God."
On August 25, 2005, Nathan and Christy Nockels joined with their dear friends Charlie Hall, Chris Tomlin, Shane & Shane, Point of Grace, Ed Cash, and Louie and Shelley Giglio for a concert of their best songs from the past decade. It was a night to celebrate Watermark's ministry and music as the Nockels bring this season of their career to an end.
The result is A Grateful People, a live record that captures Christy's vocal prowess and highlights Nathan's excellence as a producer and instrumentalist. With new recordings of five No. 1 songs and four never-before-heard tracks, this is a must-have album for any Watermark fan. Includes "The Glory of Your Name," "A Grateful People/Bless the Lord (with Chris Tomlin)," "Captivate Us (with Charlie Hall)," and more.
Mastertrax are the original artist performance masters in three keys. Includes the artist's original background vocal track, plus a high, medium and low key track without background vocals. Demonstration is in the medium range as originally recorded by the artist. Lyrics and sheet music included.
Husband and wife duo Nathan and Christy Nockels, better known as Watermark, return with their fourth studio album, The Purest Place. This vibrant, worshipful album draws on their roots as worship leaders to lead the listener on an emotional journey to The Purest Place, the center of God's Heart. Includes "The Glory of Your Name", "Knees to the Earth", "Hidden in You", and more.
Anchored by Christy's inspiring vocals and the duo's trademark pop melodies, their poignant lyrics reach a high-water mark on "Seek Me," "Friend for Life," "No Idea," "Made for You," "Noah's Song," "Carry You," "Remember," "Still," and more.
