HOW I USE SITEBUILDIT TO BUILD A WEB PAGE
When you use sitebuildit to build a page you can't go wrong. This is how I built Victoria Osteen's webpage on this website ...and all the other webpages. If you want to look under the hood of BiographyMinistries and see what makes it tick ...Let's go! SiteBuildIt has many different templates to work with, depending on what you are wanting to build on your website. And each template is made up of building blocks. We are going to check out a web page template. What I want to show you is one of BiographyMinistries web pages, the nuts and bolts, so you can see how simple building a web page really is when you use SiteBuildIt. The web page that I have chosen is Victoria Osteen. You can click on her link and it will open another window so that you can follow along comparing the original web page that everyone sees on this website and the 'behind the scenes' look that I'm going to show you here on this page. As mentioned above... SiteBuildIt templates are basically building blocks. After you sign in (login) you will click on a button that says, 'Add a SiteBuilder Page' which brings you to this (below). This is a page builder template (with four blocks). You have three larger blocks at the top and one very small block at the bottom (Notice that they are not numbered). Now, see the button almost at the bottom on the far right, that says, Insert? When you click on that you are shown a drop down box, filled with many different kinds of blocks to choose from to build webpage (Headline, Text, Text Link, E-mail Link, Graphic, Divider, Line Break, Form Block, etc. As we move along I will be clicking on that 'Insert' button to grab the block we need to build Victoria Osteen's webpage. You will know when I have a building block because it will be numbered as Block #1, Block #2 and so on (in the top right-hand corner of those blocks). You can add as many blocks as you need when you use SiteBuildit but we only need six blocks for Victoria Osteen's webpage.
Please notice the question marks running up and down the left side of the building block template. These question marks (when clicked on) explain in detail and in the simplest terms exactly what to do in each section (these question marks are one of my favorites in SiteBuildIt). Believe me I have no idea how to build a website. I just follow the easy to understand directions under the question marks. I'm serious! Also, there is a 10-day action guide that you can follow... ...both written or video, which ever you prefer, that guides you step by step in whatever you want to do with your website. And there is no rush or hurry, when you use SiteBuildit, you can take all the time you need. This first block (Page Information) with the different sections, File Name, Page Title, Keywords, Description, is very simple to fill-out when you use SiteBuildit. As I mentioned above the question marks, when clicked on, explain in great detail exactly what to do in each section. There is no way (as long as you follow the directions) you can do anything wrong! This block (Page Information) of this webpage builder you will not see on Victoria Osteen's webpage. This block is for the search engines. Google, Yahoo, etc. The information that you put in this block is what you see on the internet when you do a search for Victoria Osteen (see the comparison below).
Now this next block (Navigation Options), is on Victoria's page. This is the NavBar with all the buttons, usually it's on the left side of every webpage on every website on the internet. There are exceptions, some websites have their NavBar running across at the top of their websites. When you use SiteBuildit you have that option but I chose to put BiographyMinistries NavBar at the left. The little window that you see in this block (Navigation Options), is where you would type in Victoria Osteen's name if you wanted to give her a button on the NavBar. And if you clicked on the 'Preview button' to see what it would look like, it would look like this (below). I chose not to give her one.

Now we come to the (Other Page Options) block. I'm going to skip over the 'Password-Protect' section. To be honest with you I don't know what it is and I have never used it. So, what we have next is the RSS/Blog It! The Socialize It! and the Footer sections of this block. I can't go into a lot of details about these three sections because they, by themselves, are three different SiteBuildit templates that you would build at a different time, to match the look and feel of your website. They are also very simple to build when you use SiteBuildit, you just fill-in the blanks like we're doing here with this webpage builder template. This block (Other Page Options) is mainly for if you want the RSS/Blog It! The Socialize It! and the Footer on Victoria Osteen's webpage, which I did and below is what each one looks like separately. After the (Other Page Options) block.

So... moving on......we come to the (Headline) block. The first block that is numbered (Block #1) in the right-hand corner. That is because this is the first part of... your webpage that everyone will see on your website. You'll notice I typed in 'VICTORIA OSTEEN' in all caps. I can align (move) the headline to the left, right or center of the page and I can change the font (letter) size. You can type in whatever you want. Pretty simple. Below is the (Headline) block and after that how her name appears at the top of her web page.
