Tore my family apart, brainwashes innocent people
I traveled to and from Ernest Angley's church from our home in Canada from infancy to young adulthood with my parents.
I had a life-changing moment which caused me to rethink my entire thought process regarding the teachings of Ernest Angley and realized that I no longer believed that I was damned to hell for living a life that I felt in my heart was meant to be.
This decision came with great cost however when my parents (under the Reverend's persuasion) asked me to leave their home. Now years later there is still a great divide between myself and the parents I was once quite close to.
I do believe in a greater power in some form, yes. I do not however believe in any organized (or otherwise) religion that divides families, encourages people to give money beyond their means, uses fear to control a congregation or worships a man the way most worship an entity.
