Tommy Bates Ministries

Tommy Bates Ministries was founded by Tommy Bates who pastors one of America's fastest growing independent Pentecostal churches, Community Family Church, in Independence, Kentucky. A powerful preacher, gifted musician, and anointed singer, Pastor Bates ministers in his own unique blend of high energy, devil-defeating, supercharged preaching, coupled with old-fashioned, Appalachian singing that is sure to stir your spirit.

Pastor Bates has appeared on TBN in Dallas, Texas, as a special guest and has made several appearances with his sons on TBN at Hendersonville, Tennessee, but most frequently is viewed on “Up On Melody Mountain” with Betty Jean Robinson. By the time he was twenty years of age, Pastor Bates had already been to nine different countries, being involved in missions projects. Through his years of experience, he presently conducts crusades and conferences throughout the world, seeing multiplied thousands come to Christ. The gifts of the Spirit follow his ministry with visible signs of transformation and miraculous healings.

On April 17, 1981, Pastor Tommy Bates became the Interim Pastor for his home church and was elected the Senior Pastor of the Community Family Church on August 3, 1981. Pressing through the tremendous difficulty of a divided congregation, contentious division between the old order of Pentecostalism and acceptance of change, financial draining, lack of organization, over eighty relatives, strong family clans, and great debt, Pastor Bates, through the preaching of the Word with a powerful anointing, has seen God bring CPC to financial freedom with no debt in 1987.

Presently, over two thousand members and visitors attend services every week. To date, the church has one-hundred and eight acres of prime property, about eighteen miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio, and only fourteen miles from the Greater Cincinnati Airport, which has proven to be a pivotal position for the Kingdom of God. With the additional buildings of the Educational Wing, the Family Life Center, and the Tara Center, they are moving forward to building a new four thousand-seat sanctuary.

Pastor Bates completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education from Northern Kentucky University. He oversees the spiritual and corporate direction of Community Family Church as well as his own ministry, Tommy Bates Ministries, Inc.

Pastor Bates resides with his wife, Tara, and has three children, Eric, Josh, and Ashley as well as a daughter-in-law, Erin, and a son-in-law, Jamen.

i just got out of bed, not going to church today, turned on the tv and saw the program about back-sliders and people wanting more. boy did that mean something to me. we have been looking for a church, we have been attending but not satisfied until this morning!!!!!it has brought me tears, wanting more than what i have settled for in the last ten years, i want to be loved, cared for, appreciated, i know GOD can do that, we need to find a church like yours to begin to grow again, to forget the world and get back to the basics of GOD because that is the only way that we can begin truely be the children of GOD, i praise GOD for the short message i saw, praise God!!!!

Too much to gain, to lose.
by: Ron Siebert

Reverend Bates,
I recently had the opportunity to hear Pastor Bates sing "I have too much to gain, to lose" on a Televised service broadcast in Cleveland Ohio.

I have applied this throughout my week and have been amazed at how the trivial things in life disappear and that I am able to concentrate on the big things, family, health, relationships.

Being a card carrying, God fearing Catholic it is difficult for me to accept all the "protestant" churches and services as genuine and truly authentic. Having said that there is "no way" that Rev Bates did not affect me in a positve and profound way.

Having had this last week be "Mercy Sunday" maybe that was God's way of telling me to be more tolerant and open.

Thank you for listening. And keep on, keepin on" as our dear friend Les Brown would say.

All the best.
