SPIRITUAL VISION

SPIRITUAL REALITY

So [the Syrian king] sent horses, chariots, and a great army. They came by night and surrounded the city. When the servant of the man of God rose early and went out, behold, an army, was around the city. Elisha’s servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” [Elisha] answered, “fear not; for those with us are more than those with them.” Then Elisha prayed, “LORD, open his eyes that he may see.” And the LORD opened the young man’s eyes, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. ---II KINGS 6:14-17

To believe the impossible we must see the invisible. Seeing the invisible reveals all things are possible.

We need to discern spiritual issues from God’s perspective instead of man’s. We need to see the enemies attack plan and perceive God’s angelic strike-force.

If we could understand about this other world, this spirit world, that exists and understand that it’s the world where God lives, faith would become easy.

There is a double-kingdom system. There are kingdoms on earth with human rulers and behind those earthly kingdoms are unseen kingdoms with demonic rulers.

(We’re living in two worlds). Everything on this earth, every human, every being, is dominated, ruled or influenced by spirits in the unseen world. Even we Christians are influenced and led by the (Spirit) of God!

We try to fight, wrestle and cope with situations we see, when really there’s an unseen power behind that situation. When we begin to understand this, we’ll become powerful in our prayers and in our faith.

We can’t walk in the light of something we’ve been in the dark about. But, “glory to God,” He has given us glimpse’s into His world! And we can learn a lot from this inside information. Take for instance, the following situation written in God’s Word 3 times, II Kings 19:8-37; II Chronicles 32:1-21; Isaiah 36; 37: 1-38.

King Hezekiah of Jerusalem is under siege, he receives a letter from King Sennacherib of Assyria, who has invaded Judah, taken 46 fortified cities and carried away 200,000 prisoners.

In the letter the Assyrian king insults the Lord God of Israel and His servant King Hezekiah of Jerusalem. (Not good)! He tells King Hezekiah that the other gods of the other cities didn’t protect them so why should he (Hezekiah) deceive himself into believing anything different.

In Isaiah 37:14 King Hezekiah takes the letter to the temple of God, spreads out the letter on the alter before the Lord and prays. This physical act in the visible realm seems to parallel the establishing of spiritual authority in the invisible realm.

Because that night God intervened with a demonstration of supernatural power that proved to Assyria that He was God indeed. The Lord sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the leaders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So the king withdrew to his own land in disgrace.

In the beginning, Hezekiah had gone to the Lord’s temple and prayed. In the end, twenty years later Sennacherib went to the temple of his god and while worshipping was murdered at the hands of his own sons.

This is an excellent illustration of the visible and the invisible, this double-kingdom system running side by side and also a lesson in the power of prayer and how prayer effects these two worlds and can change the outcome of any given situation.

Something that you may not be aware of is, that in II Chr. 32:6-8 King Hezekiah after he gathers together his military captains and the people in the open square of the city. He practically tells them the same exact words that Elisha (above) tells his servant. “…do not be afraid …for there are more with us than with him.”

To exercise your 20/20 spirit-vision into the invisible and to gain spiritual wisdom, knowledge and understanding of this double-kingdom system, please refer to Job 1:6-12; 2:1-7; Luke 22:31; Daniel 10 and Ezekiel 28; Luke 4:5,6 and 8; Matthew 16:23; especially I Kings 22:19-21

I hope I’ve helped you see what you can’t see so that maybe you can change what you can see!
