Set Free Ministries mission statement is to set captives free from Satan's bondage through Christ's power and prayer, by encouraging them to know and walk in God's Word.

· SFM is experiencing explosive growth in 2008 with numerous ministry opportunities. We trained over 100 people with training events in West Michigan, Africa, and 2 more training events left in 2008. 100's of people have made first time decisions to follow Christ.

· SFM/USA office has never been busier as we minister to Young and Old, Rich and Poor, Laymen and Professionals from all walks of life. 1000's have received ministry in the US, Africa and India

· SFM is debt free and helping 1000's per year world wide experiencing Freedom in Christ.

Dean Vander Mey spent most of his life in the business world. At age 15 he started a business and it grew for 24 years into several ventures until 1999 when God called him into ministry. Dean was a founding board member of SFM in 1996 and has served as its Executive Director since July 2002.

Dean has trained extensively in prayer and biblical counseling with Elijah House Ministries, International Center for Biblical Counseling, and Center for Judaic-Christian studies. In the past Dean has served on church boards, school boards, and Youth for Christ board.

Dean has been married to Sharie for 23 years and the Lord has blessed them with 7 daughters. In 2007 Sam Wierenga, age 13, joined the Vander Mey family after his mothers passing.
