REBECCA ST JAMES

Here's the Trick to watch videos

Rebecca St James (born Rebecca Jean Smallbone on July 26, 1977), is a Grammy Award winning Christian pop rock singer, songwriter, and published author. She was born in Sydney, Australia, to David and Helen Smallbone. She is the oldest of seven children and currently lives in Franklin, Tennessee.

St. James' musical career began in 1990 when she opened shows for CCM artist Carman during his Australian tour. In 1991, she released her first album, Refresh My Heart, under the name Rebecca Jean. Later that year, she moved to the United States upon signing with ForeFront Records, and took her stage name at the label's request.

In 2006 Rebecca played the part of Colleen (the wife of Keith, the main character) in the movie Unidentified.

In 2003 she played the part of Maggie (Mary Magdalene) in the Hero rock opera.

She provided the voice of Hope in VeggieTales: An Easter Carol from Big Idea Productions.

She had a small, uncredited role in Left Behind as Kirk Cameron's assistant.

Rebecca St James is an open supporter of teenage sexual abstinence, and has become an unofficial spokesperson for True Love Waits. The popular single "Wait For Me", from her album Transform, encourages abstaining from sex outside of marriage.

In 2000, it became the title and focus of a 46-city tour. St. James wrote the song herself while on a tour bus. Her third book, titled Wait for Me: Rediscovering the Joy of Purity in Romance, was published in 2002 and further addressed the issue. She also ardently supports the Pro-Life movement.

Rebecca St James played at the 2007 Parachute Concert at Mystery Creek in New Zealand.

Alive 2000 An unofficial bootleg from the Alive 2000 performance that has circulated among fans; also has been confused as an official release by some album download sites.

The sound quality is inferior to the official live albums, but contains more of Rebecca's spoken interaction with the audience (including an abstinence message and her list of "five quick little things") than any official release. Should not be confused with the 2007 release aLive in Florida.
