Matthew 25 Ministries
Matthew 25 Ministries (M25M) is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization established in 1990 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Partnering with corporations, hospitals, and non-profit organizations, M25M is committed to helping ALL people in need, regardless of race, creed or political persuasion.
The mission of Matthew 25: Ministries is to fulfill Matthew 25:34-40 by providing nutritional food to the hungry, clean water to the thirsty, clothing to the naked, shelter to the homeless, medical care to the ill, and humanitarian supplies to prisoners.
The people the ministry helps are not receiving a handout, but a helping hand. It is only when a person’s most basic needs are met that one can become self reliant. Because of this belief, Matthew 25: Ministries has always placed an emphasis on education, job creation and providing aid to children.
Matthew 25: Ministries rescues and reuses items from corporations, hospitals and individuals throughout the United States. Matthew 25 hand touches and evaluates all incoming products to ensure that these goods are appropriate for their intended destination. With the help of volunteers, M25M then categorizes, sorts, processes and packages these products for shipment. The items are shipped within the US and around the world and distributed to those in need. Often this process is accomplished in collaboration with other smaller relief organizations.
Every person has the right to live. Still, millions of people are dying each year from the pains of poverty, including unclean water, malnutrition, and preventable disease. That’s why the staff, volunteers, partners, and donors of Matthew 25: Ministries work together to provide life-saving humanitarian aid to the poorest of the poor.
* Half the world – nearly three billion people – lives on less than two dollars a day.
* 30,000 children under the age of five die each day due to hunger and treatable illness. That’s 11 million children each year.
* One in twelve children will die before they reach their fifth birthday.
* One billion children suffer from one or more of the following multiple deprivations: nutrition, water, sanitation, health, shelter, education, and information.
* Nearly one billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their name.
* 1.1 billion people in developing countries have inadequate access to clean water.
* By 2003, 15 million children had been orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
* The gross domestic product of the poorest 48 nations is less than the wealth of the world's three richest people.
* More than 800 million people go hungry every day.
In 2009, Matthew 25 shipped 413 40-foot containers with 7,861,140 pounds of humanitarian aid.
