Joseph Prince, False Prophet or Heretic?

Why do accusers of Grace ministries call pastors false prophets and heretics and not see themselves in that way?

They only quote some of the Scriptures without taking the entire Bible into consideration.

Example: Ps. 10:14. The unfortunate commits himself to You; You have been the helper of the orphan... O LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear to vindicate the orphan and the oppressed.

**Conclusion: God loves and cares for the poor and we should too.

2 Corinthians 9:10-11 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.

**Conclusion: God cares for us and wants to bless us spiritually and materially. The blessed are to help the poor! Yaay!

Warning: Don't ignore half the Scriptures in the Bible. The Bible works together with the old testament being the shadow of things to come and the new testament being the solution to our sin problem and living here on earth.

Joseph Prince naysayers, read this:

Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Love your brother as yourself. Seek not to harm any. Patience, and kindness, are included in the fruit of the spirit. Forgiveness also. If attacking each other whether verbally or otherwise to show who is right is not the embodiment of Jesus. In all things give love for of all this is the greatest. NOONE can understand the mind of GOD therefore NOONE can say who is right or wrong in their interpretation of HIS word. If they are loving and sharing GODs WORD then they are not wrong or heretical. In these teachings The Lord gives each one of us our own understanding and the wisdom to apply it to our daily mortal lives. Accusing someone of teaching falsely when they are following the word of the Lord is actually against Christs teachings. Seems to me that all those who are accusing Pastor Prince are the ones who are Persecuting so in reality Who is being heretical?

A brief response to Prince:

Justification and sanctification are distinct but inseparable. We are justified by faith but real faith works "by love" (Gal 5:6), resulting in the "obedience of faith" (Rom 1:5). Harmonization of Paul and James also shows that real justification by faith is inseparable from a sanctified lifestyle. Prince, though, says "practical righteousness" has no place in the believer's conscious thoughts, as this would be a kind of "sin consciousness."

Prince's divorce of the inseparable constitutes what theologians call Sandemanian Antinomianism -- a charge Prince replies to by an idiosyncratic redefinition of Antinomiansim as rejection of the pedagogic use of law in leading us to grace).
Prince confounds the notions of faith and repentance. He irresponsibly cites a small segment of Thayer's Lexicon (beware abridged, online versions) out of context in an effort to say that repentance is only a change of mind to believe the good news about grace (his "repentance" is another word for faith). Repentance involves turning from sin (Mt 3:8, 2 Co 7:9 etc.)

Prince falsely portrays all notion of law as Mosaic Law. Scripture teaches a royal or moral law which predates and exists apart from the Mosaic Law. God is king and issues commands prior to Moses and outside of Moses. We live in God's kingdom rule (1 Co 4:20; 6:9-10; 15:24; 15:50; Gal 5:21; Eph 5:5; 1 Thess 2:12; 2 Thess 1:5; 2 Tim 4:1, 18; Col 1:13, 4;11; 2 Tim 4:1, 18; Heb 1:8; 11:33; 12:25, 28; Jas 2:5; 2 Pt 1:11). Any message which dispenses with the kingdom here and now is a false gospel (see MT 24:14).

Violating God's royal, moral standards is considered “lawlessness" (see Mt 7:23, 13:41, 23:28, 24:12, Rom 4:7, 6:19, 2 Co 6:14, 2 Thess 2:1-8, 1 Tim 1:9, Titus 2:14, Heb 1:9, 10:17, 2 Pt 2:8, 1 Jn 3:4). The New Testament is full of the kind of specific exhortations Prince rejects.

Prince's resulting approach to living is what we call "Quietism" -- a passive approach to sanctified living. Scripture that tells us that in dependence upon the Spirit, we must "strive" (Lk 13:24, 1 Tim 4:10), use "self control" (Acts 24:25; 1 Co 7:5, 7:9, 9:25, Gal 5:23; 2 Tim 3:3; Titus 1:8; 2 Pt 1:6) -- which is a fruit of the Spirit but does not bypass the self. We must actively walk by the Spirit (Gal 5:16, 25) with "diligence" and "perseverance" (2 Pt 1:5-7).

Prince is an open follower of Kenneth Hagin Sr., who plagiarized the teachings of E. W. Kenyon (who had slightly reworded the ideas of New Thought Mind Science). This is, for example, where Prince gets his ideas regarding "positive confession" (though Paul spoke only of what Christ did "through" him in Rom 15:18). The New Thought obsession with wealth and pleasantries persists in Hagin and Prince. As "hungry," "thirsty," and "poorly clothed" (1 Co 4:11-13); Paul is a failure in their teachings.

Princianism is a toxic blend that falls outside the boundaries of biblical and historic orthodoxy.

Joseph Prince is NO heretic! I find his teaching to be in line with God's word. However, i would say this website is counter-productive. if this website would spent its time and energy support Go'd people and less time dividing, I'm certain more would be gained!

The letter of the word kills but the spirit gives life, and to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear Joseph Prince's messages, they are truly life-giving.
We know that the things of the spirit can not be understood with the natural mind, but when the Holy Spirit quickens the Word, and theTruth becomes alive, you want to share the Good News.

The "Good News" did not end the day you heard the Good News of the Gospel, but it's God that enlightens the eyes of the heart.

Ephesians 1:17.

I do search the scriptures when Joseph Prince says something I've not heard ... and have not found anything contradictory to scripture. I think he may lean a bit towards prosperity and sort of imply that when persecution is when we fall away from God (I believe the persecution of the 1st century Christians and of many through-out the ages was precisely because they were following God and they will be greatly rewarded for it). On the other hand, Mr (Dr?) Prince is an inspirational preacher. I have learned from his preaching and do watch him when I see him on TV. So I don't think he bends the scriptures and I don't think he intentionally mis-represents scripture. I believe he downplays persecution a bit ... but I don't think anything in his preaching is heretical. I especially love the way he focuses it all in scripture.

I can not see anywhere in 2 Corinthians 9:10-11 that promises material blessing. Rather, if the verses are read in context it is clear that the verses you are using here are talking of charity, not materal blessing.
I find it quite funny that you criticise people for using scripture out of context and then immediatly follow with a scripture taken out of context.

Matthew 6:19
19. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

In summary; we are not promised earthly riches in the bible, but we are told to "store up riches in heaven".
Any teaching that promises otherwise is in contradiction to the words of Christ in the bible.
