Inspiration Ministries

Inspiration Ministries is a Christian-based residential community and respite provider located near Lake Geneva, Wis. The beautiful rural campus includes several styles of residences, a resale and coffee shop, a retreat center, camping sites, hiking trails, a swimming pool, and a workshop.

This Ministry is open to residents of all races and religious backgrounds, and operates financially from resident fees and the gifts of friends, businesses, foundations and congregations. They are an independent nonprofit lead by a Board of Directors of men and women from a variety of occupations. Their goal is to provide a warm, homelike environment in which men and women with physical and cognitive disabilities can thrive and succeed.


The mission of this ministry is to encourage people with disabilities with the hope and joy found in Jesus by helping them meet their basic needs and realize their full potential in Christ.

The vision of Inspiration is to make known Jesus Christ as Savior to every person with a disability, and to help experience the joy and hope of knowing him.

This ministry began as Christian League for the Handicapped. Its purpose was and is to be a place where people with disabilities can grow and mature in their faith and lead productive, joy-filled lives. The following is a brief timeline of God’s leading, guiding and providing for the life and growth of a vital ministry to adults with disabilities.

1944 – Pastor Charlie Pedersen meets a physically disabled man with great faith, and the dream is born.

1948 – The ministry is incorporated as the Christian League for the Handicapped.

1950 – Camp Hope, a summer camp, opens in ministry Lake Geneva.

1964 – The "occupational residence," another first of its kind, opens. Now known as the Pederson Center, it features two wings offering housing for up to 64 people. A family room with a television and fireplace and a dining room provide a homey feel and an atmosphere of love and acceptance.

1984 – Charlie Pedersen retires, leaving a legacy of faith in action, motivated by the tender heart of love.

2006-2008 – Remodel completed on The Lodge and four cabins and the Nature Center built at Camp.
