His Mansion Ministries
His Mansion Ministries is a Christian rehabilitation center with 37 years’ experience successfully treating everything from alcohol abuse to eating disorders. The ministry was founded in 1971 by Stan Farmer, Hal Moore and Joseph Wagner. (Stan has served as the Executive Director since 1972). These men were brought together by a common concern for the damage being done by addictions and by a shared passion to tap into the tremendous potential that lay in the ranks of the otherwise dysfunctional victims of the culture.
His Mansion is a no-nonsense community where recovery must be more important to the residents than it is to the staff. Residents are expected to work at the program and exhibit a desire to change. Those who are not ready to surrender to the process need not apply. Those who play games after arrival will be asked to leave.
We are a smoke-free, alcohol-free and drug-free environment. Appropriate medical prescriptions are allowed. Applicants may not be wards of the state or mandated to His Mansion by the courts. Because we accept no state or federal monies, charge no fees, and accept only adults, we reserve the right to choose our residents carefully.
His Mansion is located in the south-central New Hampshire town of Deering. The 360-acre property begins at State Highway Rt. 149 and extends up a mountainside to the twin summits at 2000 feet. The campus itself sits on 30 acres near the lower end of the property.
Visitors to His Mansion are usually amazed at the beauty of the grounds and condition of the buildings. A fishpond, fruit trees, flowerbeds, and both hardwoods and pines accent the campus. There is a sense of peace and the setting lends itself to practicing the presence of God the Creator. The whole environment is conducive to the miracle of healing.
A long white house built around 1769 and a 130-foot barn of the same vintage are surrounded by eighteen other buildings built in the 1900s. The barn is the hub of our agriculturally-based activities, which include cows, hogs and poultry. Our residents and staff work together to plant, raise, harvest and prepare our food supply.
Substance Abuse Treatment
Substance abuse is a pattern using behavior-altering substances in ways that result in adverse personal, social and legal consequences. Abused substances include alcohol, amphetamines, cocaine, hallucinogens, opiates, PCP, sedatives and prescription drugs.
Sexual Addiction Treatment
Psychologists believe that sexual addiction is about the least understood and talked about of all addictions. Sexual addiction has similarities with alcohol and drug addiction or compulsive gambling. Even people who admit to having other bad habits shy away from admitting to sexual addiction.
Eating Disorder Treatment
An eating disorder is an unhealthy obsession with food that is harmful or life-threatening. Eating disorders affect as many as 10 million females and 1 million males in the U.S. Millions more are struggling with bouts of binge eating.
Depression Disorder Treatment
According to recent research, depressive disorders will affect almost 19 million American adults this year. That’s almost 10% of the U.S. population. This includes major depressive disorder, dysthymic disorder, and bipolar disorder.
