Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon
Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon is a statewide association of Christian denominations (including Protestant, Roman Catholic and Orthodox bodies), congregations, ecumenical organizations and interfaith partners.
Through community ministry, public policy advocacy, theological education and dialogue and environmental ministry, EMO participates in the collective task of building a just and compassionate world for all people. They invite you to participate in this collaborative effort to create a world of possibility for all God's people in Oregon and beyond.
The mission of EMO is to bring together Oregon’s diverse faith community for dialogue, advocacy and community ministries in service to God’s people and creation.
EMO unites people of faith throughout the state of Oregon to work for the common good by making justice, compassion, equality and peace visible in a manner consistent with our sacred traditions, Holy Scripture and the teachings of Jesus Christ.
EMO commits its spiritual, creative and fiscal resources to:
* Theological discernment concerning Christian unity and the general health of society.
* Development and support of partnerships and understanding among people of all faiths.
* Unity in service through ministries of compassion and healing.
* Faith in action through advocacy for justice and the well being of God’s creation.
EMO's quarterly Voice newsletter provides updates on faith-based events throughout Oregon, current ecumenical developments and news about EMO's public policy advocacy and community ministries. If you are interested in receiving the Voice, please contact EMO at emo@emoregon.org. Subscriptions are free.
