Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries
Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries is a non-profit organization committed to sharing the gospel of the love of Jesus Christ by providing hope to the hopeless, abused, disadvantaged and homeless men, women and children of theirr community in “rebuilding one life at a time”. By ministering to the total person, body, soul and spirit, together they help them to become faithful Christians discipled into a local church, rehabilitated, employed and living productive lives in restored families.
Founded in 1909, The Detroit Rescue Mission Ministry has embarked upon its 100th year of continued service providing food, shelter and services to intervene upon homelessness and substance addiction throughout Detroit and its surrounding metropolitan communities. DRMM is a faith-based, non-profit organization, recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and has devoted a wealth of resources to meet the basic needs of humanity while motivating individuals to rebuild their lives, one life at a time.
Shelter Residents stay overnight and are provided meals and the opportunity to shower and receive new clothing items. Shelter Counselors do an assessment with each resident, encourage and help residents apply for services and take steps to help them meet long term needs and assure that clients receive emergency medical or counseling needs.

* 1,000,000 meals to the homeless and hungry which are served at seven facilities located throughout Detroit and Highland Park.
* More than 160,000 nights of emergency shelter for homeless men, women, and children.
* Transitional housing and substance abuse treatment for over 1,700 men and 850 women.
* Transitional housing provisions for 12 teen mothers with children at our Genesis House I.
* Over 1,000 inner-city children given a summer camping experience at our Wildwood Ranch located in Howell, MI.
* Spiritual guidance and empowerment to more than 1,000 people daily.
* Recreation and prevention programs for 75 children in Highland Park and Detroit on a weekly basis throughout the year.
* More than 75,000 clothing items provided to the needy from DRMM clothing bank.
* Residential substance abuse treatment for 300 incarcerated men under the jurisdiction of the Michigan Department of Corrections and the Wayne County Community Justice system.
* Inpatient substance abuse treatment and detoxification services for 1,300 addicted and uninsured men and women throughout Wayne County.
* Transitional Jobs, Case Management, Spiritual Mentoring, and Housing assistance for over 650 men and women returning to the community from prison.
