Pastor Hinn was born December 3, 1952. He and his wife, Suzanne Hinn live in Dana Point, California, with their four children - three daughters, Jessica, Natasha, and Eleasha, and a son, Joshua.

Toufik Benedictus "Benny" Hinn was born in Jaffa, Israel to a Palestinian father and an Armenian mother. He was raised within the Greek Orthodox Church, and attended Georges Vanier Secondary School in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His father was the mayor of Jaffa and as a child, he was socially isolated and handicapped by a severe stammer, but was nonetheless a first-class student. In 1970 he worked in the North York section of Toronto at the Fairview Mall packing ice cream into surgar cones.
