Biography Ministries Reveals Televangelist Test ResultsHello! Welcome to Biography Ministries. My name is Tom Hudson. For as long as I can remember televangelists have always been on the worlds blacklist. They are always looked down upon and they are always made fun of. I have never heard anything good about a televangelist from the world’s point of view. I started wondering about God’s point of view? Would God view these ministries the same way as the world does? So… …I came up with this simple test. Followed by the results! God said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. “He who believes… will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned (Mk.16:15,16). I checked on the televangelists and here is what I found. TBN Ministries has 97 satellite stations and 12,500 affiliates, reaching nearly 100,000,000 households globally. Daystar Ministries is now broadcasting to over 50 million homes in the United States and to several hundred million homes in 150 countries around the world via ten major satellites. Joyce Meyer Ministries airs her television and radio programs in 25 languages in 200 countries, and she has written over 70 books on Christianity. Not bad! Not mentioning the other hundred or so televangelist’s these three ministries alone are doing pretty good at spreading God’s Word. Next, I wanted to look into these healing ministries. Are they real or are they fake? Well, God says in Mk. 6:5,6 and in Matt.13:58 that Jesus could do no mighty work because of the peoples unbelief. Notice, it doesn’t say He wouldn’t, it says He couldn’t. If unbelief kept Jesus from working, and He ministered in the power of the Holy Spirit without measure (Jn. 3:34), can we as unbelievers expect anything different from todays healing ministries? Especially when God says it’s impossible to please Him without faith. I think this subject explains itself. OK, let’s move on. Does the Bible agree with the world that the televangelists will be disliked? Boy, it sure does! I found in I Jn. 3:13 that God says, Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you. And then again in Jn. 15:18 God says, If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. And in verse 20 …If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. When I dug deeper and came across I Cor. 4:13 where God says that they would be defamed and be as the filth of the world I started thinking these televangelists and their ministries just might be on God’s whitelist? Until I thought, “Money!” Yeah, that’s it. That’s what is in the news, even the Christian news. That’s what the whole world is talking about. The tv evangelist ministries money. I’ll run that through “THE TELEVANGELIST TEST!” Now, I remembered Abraham when I was a child, so I thought I’d look him up first. Here’s what I found. In Gen.13:2 God says, Abraham was not only rich, but he was VERY rich with silver and gold, etc; Even Abraham’s servant agreed with God because in Gen. 24:35 he says, “The Lord has blessed my master greatly …with silver and gold, etc; As a matter of fact I started noticing that most of the men and women of the Bible were extremely, exceedingly abundantly rich! I would see promises of God about money and then look at these televangelists and see God keeping His Word! Like for instance, If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasures (Job 36:11). And also, That I may cause those who love Me to inherit wealth, that I may fill their treasuries (Prov. 8:21). Blessed is the man who fears the Lord… Wealth and riches WILL be in their house (Ps. 112:3). After counting over 250 verses about prosperity, I gave up! According to God’s Word these televangelist ministries pass with flying colors, not only that, but they’re living proof that God keeps His Word! Now don’t get me wrong. I’ve heard people complain about some of these televangelist’s driving luxurious cars. If they are purchasing these worldly toys with the tithes meant for the poor that would be very disturbing indeed, wouldn’t it? But the Bible has an answer for that. “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31). I personally believe that it’s alright for these preachers to buy these things with the royalties or profits of their book sales or non ministry business ventures. But that’s just my opinion. The Rolls-Royce that Creflo Dollar drives, I heard, was a birthday gift from his congregation. The his and hers Mercedes-Benz’s that Kenneth Copeland and his wife Gloria own, I heard, were anonymous gifts. I also heard that Benny Hinn of Benny Hinn ministries hypnotizes people but I’m not going to judge these televangelists or falsely accuse them by what I hear. I’ll just let God sort it all out. I do know that you can tell a tree by it’s fruit. A bad tree cannot produce good fruit and a good tree cannot produce bad fruit. And no matter what goes on in life there is always going to be some bad apples. But… I don’t want to get into all that. The main purpose of this website is: (and I’ll get straight to the point) “God is real.” He is so very real! And if you want to experience Him personally, for yourself, you have come to the right site. But you have to be serious about it, you can’t play games. Believe me, I know. The only requirement is a sincere heart. With a sincere heart God will reveal Himself to you. I promise. But don’t take my word, take God’s Word. He promises …if you seek Me I will be found by you…(Jer. 29:13) and trust me, as mentioned above, He keeps His Word! My main goal is to save you alot of time & trouble from what I've already went through and to help boost you by leaps & bounds into a real relationship with the living God. That's what you were created for and that's what He is longing for. All you have to do is "read & pray!" That's all you have to do. It's that simple. This is what I did to come to know God personally and to experience the reality of His presense in my life. I grabbed the Bible. I didn’t understand the Bible and I didn’t know how to pray. I just started saturating myself with anything that had to do with God. I had various books about God written by various authors and any book that did not line up with the Bible I threw in the trash. I went to church mainly just to ask the preacher every kind of question I could think of and if what he said didn’t line up with the Bible I disregarded it too. I would watch Trinity (a Christian TV station) and other Christian ministries to learn more and more. I would go to sleep listening to the Bible on cassette tapes. I prayed constantly. I learned that when you pray you just talk to God like you would anyone else. At first it seemed like a joke, like I was wasting my time. I would get mad at God because He wouldn’t answer my prayers or reveal Himself. There were times I’d be afraid of God wondering, “what if He strikes me dead?” I had all kinds of thoughts going through my head, thoughts like is He really there, does He really care, is He even listening? I came across this scripture: “If you draw near to Me I WILL draw near to you” (James 4:8). This scripture and the one mentioned above were the two main scriptures I would always bring to Gods attention when I talked to Him (prayed). I would find scriptures about filthy communication coming out of your mouth and I would say, “OK God, I agree, but You’re going to have to help me because I’ve been talking with a filthy mouth for years.” The same with lieing. God says in His Word that He hates lieing. There were times I would be having a conversation with someone. I would catch myself cussing and lieing. But when I was alone again I would get back on my knees and tell God I was sorry. I would ask Him to forgive me and to help me. I was willing to do whatever it took to get Him to reveal Himself to me even when I came across this scripture: “Love your enemies and pray for those who despitefully use you.” I thought to myself and even told God, “This is a hard one but I will do it.” These scriptures taught me how to practice the Word not just read it, (Practicing God’s Word will draw Him nearer to you faster than anything I know, besides having a sincere heart). I got on my knees and started praying for all the people I hated. It’s a lot easier said than done but I even went one step further, I asked God to bless them. These same steps that you just took from the top of this page to where you’re at now, are the same steps I took that led me to the heart of God. As I mentioned above just saturate yourself with God. It basically boils down to this. He keeps His Word. He is faithful to His Word. He reveals Himself through the Word. I cannot over stipulate this: Get into His Word & get His Word into you! The Spirit of God takes the Word of God and makes a child of God!! This is the best kept secret of all time: God WILL reveal Himself! He promises to! “He who has My commandments (My Word) and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father and I will love him and MANIFEST Myself to him” (John 14:21). Anything that displeases God is sin and anyone who practices these things is a sinner. If you put His Word into practice, if you become a doer, if you act upon it instead of just read it, you will please Him in thought, word and deed. This will not happen overnight. As you know, you did not become a full grown human overnight and you did not go to school your first week and graduate the next. But… …you can speed up the process and this is what I highly recommend. (1). Get your hands on at least three translations of the Bible, preferably the New King James, the New International, the Amplified (not magnified) and maybe an English version. Start reading JOHN in the New testament. Then start reading what the Bible calls, “the epistles.” Letters of Paul or letters to the Church. They are actually letters from God to you. (2). Start watching DayStar and/or TBN ministries. Both are Christian TV stations. Or get hooked up to a private Christian satellite like SkyAngel, but mainly watch the teaching programs. (3). Pick up a couple of good books from your local Bible book store. Two that I would suggest: (a). Knowing God by J.I. Packer (b). What The Bible Is All About by Henrietta C. Mears (4). Get yourself a CD player & the Bible on CD (with or without headphones) and listen to it as you go to sleep (faith comes by hearing the Word of God) and also, as a benefit, any nightmares will flee from you! (5). An MP3 player (with the Bible downloaded) is good for walking the dog, doing the dishes, etc; especially wearing at work for 8hrs. if you’re employer allows them. (6). Strategically place your favorate scriptures (maybe in picture frames) throughout your house. Yes, even in your bathroom! Also, take advantage of your refrigerator magnets. Don’t forget your sun visor after you program some Christian radio stations and put some teaching CDs in your glove box. If you have a school, gym or work locker the inside door is a good place to place God’s Word! (7). Last and definitely NOT least pray, pray, pray! Talk to God in the shower, talk to God while your driving. You don’t have to get on your knees every time you pray. Oh yeah and one bit of advise, pray mostly in the mornings than at night. You need Gods presence more during the day than you do right before you go to sleep, don’t you agree? So… …become a doer of the Word and God WILL reveal Himself to you! He will, you’ll see.
